Accommodations
We secured block bookings at local hotels for our participants traveling from out of town/state. We will cover your hotel accommodations at one of our hotel venues for up to 2 nights (Wednesday October 16th, so you can arrive the day before the event, and Thursday October 17th).
We will provide shuttles to help transport you from the hotel accommodations to our event. More information to follow.
Travel Expenses
We have limited funds to help offset your travel expenses. Please contact Erica with any questions: ELB524@lehigh.edu
Additionally, we will provide breakfast and lunch both days at the workshop and will also provide dinner on Thursday evening.
Travel to Bethlehem & the Lehigh Valley
Airports
We highly recommend that workshop attendees fly into the Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) if this is possible. The workshop venue and accommodation is a short ten minute drive from ABE. Lyft & Ubers are easily available.
The two other airports to consider are Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Both airports are approximately a 90 minute drive from Lehigh. One option would be to rent a car to travel between these airports as public transportation is limited from EWR, and involves multiple changes and a long trip if you try to use public transportation from PHL.
Taxis and Ride-Share Services
Taxis and ride-share services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) can be taken from ABE, EWR, and PHL to/from the workshop venue & accommodation.
The drive to/from ABE is approximately 10 minutes to the workshop venue and accommodation.
The drive to/from EWR and PHL is approximately 90 minutes to the conference venue and area hotels. Prices vary ($100-$200+ each way) depending on day of the week, time, and demand.
Public Buses
Participants flying into EWR can use the Trans-Bridge Lines bus service to be transported to ABE or Bethlehem. From there, a taxi or ride-share service may be used to complete the short journey to the workshop venue and accommodation.
Restaurants around Campus
Here is a link to restaurants & cafes near Lehigh University (Southside Bethlehem) and in Historic Bethlehem (across the river).
