Dr. Bocchini is Professor of Civil Engineering, Director of CEE Graduate Programs, and founder and Director of the Center for Catastrophe Modeling and Resilience at Lehigh University. For 15 years, he has conducted and led research in the fields of infrastructure and community resilience to natural disasters, as well as catastrophe modeling. During 2015-2020, he led the NSF funded PRAISys project, which involved 58 scholars. He was an invited member of the National Academies committee that published the report “Investing in Infrastructure Resilience.” He has a leadership role in the ASCE Special Project on the effect of climate change on the built environment, and co-authored the upcoming recommendations for the development of new building standards which account for non-stationary environmental conditions.
